Viewership

Via tpt (public television), The Mary Hanson Show reaches approximately 2,772,650 households.  tpt now goes to the entire state of Minnesota plus the entire state of North Dakota and western Wisconsin.  The show has been on tpt for the past 22 years.  Each interview will be broadcast at least four times on public television.

On cable, The Mary Hanson Show reaches 1.86 million viewers.  On Channel 6, the Metro Cable Network or MCN, the show reaches 1.5 million viewers potentially. In addition, the show reaches 360,000 viewers via other cable systems (Minneapolis Television Network, Saint Paul Neighborhood Network, and Public Access Community Television). Each half-hour segment airs a minimum of seventeen times on cable, and most of these airing times are during prime time.  (See Airing Schedules for specific times.)  The show has been on cable for the past 37 years and has had strong support from the Star Tribune which has contributed to high viewer awareness and interest. 

Many of the interviews can also be seen on the Mary Hanson Show YouTube channel or on the guests' websites, reaching a global audience.

  • More females than males watch public television.
  • 26% are managers, owners and other professionals. This is the largest group of viewers. 
  • 75% own their own homes.
  • 28% have graduate work or graduate degrees.

  • 56% of viewers are female.
  • 40% of viewers are between ages 35-54.
  • 67% own their own home.
  • 45% of viewers have college or post bachelor’s degrees.
